When it comes to robotics technology market, we discover reality is still lagging science fiction. Some of them may have failed to live up to their claims in the past. But, this does not give us a reason to think they would not arrive sooner or later. Undoubtedly, the convergence of different state – of – the -art technologies has encouraged the development of smaller, cost – effective and highly practical droids. Research analysts at Allied Market Research, evaluating the growth rate, industry share and size and trends reveal robots run on three aspects – brawn, brain and bone. Earlier, the bots discovered were actually big machines, with notable brawn and something else. These conventional machines were hydraulically powered and were relegated to jobs mostly in the three dimensional category – uninteresting, icky and dangerous. Technological developments since their first implementation have transformed the performance level, ability and strategic advantages of the machines. For instance, by late 1979 the technology transitioned from being powered by hydraulics to electrically driven segment. Today, emphasis is laid on accuracy and performance level improved.

Robotics Technology Gets a Facelift with More Industrial Robots at Work

The total count of droids in the world has come close to the 1,000,000 figure. While Japan has almost half the count, the United States enjoys 15 percent of that number. Few years back, approximately 89 percent of them were used in automotive manufacturing, particularly on the assembly belt performing an array of repetitive tasks. But today close to 50 percent are used in car manufacturing units, with the other half distributed among labs, energy plants and other factories. From assembling different parts, handling toxic materials to polishing and cutting and more bots are now used everywhere. They are also used for tasks including detecting bombs, critical surgeries, cleaning sewers etc. There demands are rising steadily and would keep growing in coming five to six years.

Magnetic Position Sensors in IoRT & Robotic Technology takes a Centerstage

To introduce human-like attributes and limb movement, bot engineers are creating machines that display fine motor control of both end effectors and limbs. The revolution in the sector has opened new avenues for internet of things, connectivity of bots, and associated network sensors. The benefit of doing so are plenty, as cloud, distributed sensor data analysis and processing etc. can lower power consumption; ensure better communication and reduce per unit cost of the bots. Besides this, by connecting autonomous bots to cloud and implementing internet of things researchers at Allied Market Research say industrial and customer applications for droids would become infinite. Unification of AI in next generation machine, that can think independently, reason, forecast and efficiently mimic mortals would be soon be upon us.

There are more facts indicating the industry is undergoing a major transformation. Last year Amazon made a grand entry by investing in Kiva systems and then morphing into its existing robotics. Google has also acquired many robotic firms. At present Chinese manufacturers have emerged as world’s greatest procurers of advanced industrial bots. Demand for drones especially in the civilian segment has kept the future of the industry robust. Monitoring the progress in the industry, Allied Market Research has published a report titled “World Robotics Technology Market - Opportunities and Forecasts, 2014 – 2020.” Study evaluates the growth rate, industry share and size and trends in the market.
