With this collaboration, the companies aimed to install new automated driving functions in moder automated vehicles. Mobileye envisioned introducing new premium-oriented driving functions to their model portfolios across powertrain types. These include advanced assistance systems for highway and urban driving such as automated overtaking on multilane highways in permitted areas and conditions, automatic stopping at red lights and stop signs. In addition, Mobileye also aimed to supply further technology components for automated driving to Volkswagen commercial vehicles in the future.

On the contrary, in March 2023, Sony Semiconductor Solutions, a leading Israeli company developing semiconductors, laser diodes and imaging sensor products used in mobiles and cameras partnered with AMD, a renowned provider of high-performance and adaptive computing solutions to advance data center AI, AI PCs, intelligent edge devices, and gaming. With this partnership, the companies aimed to deliver a powerful and efficient LiDAR solution for use in autonomous vehicles, setting new standards in performance, reliability, and adaptability. By incorporating AMD’s adaptive computing technology, the LiDAR system capabilities had significantly offered extraordinary accuracy, fast data processing, and high reliability for next generation autonomous driving solutions.
