The new application of robotics has quickly begun growing in recent years. Several automotive industries have witnessed benefits with robotic welding. This automated process has proved to improve consistency, efficiency, and productivity. Robotic welding offers huge advantages to the production line. It utilizes less time, reduces labor costs, and offers an even safer working environment. On the other hand, it speeds up the entire working process and eventually the production as well. Moreover, these machine operators offer better availability and affordability than skilled labors.

With quality, productivity, and customer’s demands for superior items, several industries have stepped forward to adopt robotic welding. A report by Allied Market Research reveals that the robotic welding market is expected to witness significant growth with a CAGR of 8.7% from 2019 to 2026. The increase in implementation of industry 4.0, rise in usage of robots to improve efficiency in welding, and growing adoption of welding robots in the automotive industry are some of the factors driving the growth of this industry.

Other than companies, robotic welding is also being used for educational and training purposes. Recently, a company launched its new product, a welding educational system. ABB, a multinational technology company has launched IRC5/IRB 1200 welding cell for training needs for robotic software packages such as robotic welding programming, mechanical maintenance, electrical services, and online/offline software packages. Furthermore, the IRB-1200 6-axis robot has great products and can be placed in multiple ways such as inverted, floor-mounted, or wall-mounted. Moreover, the welding cell offers more when combined with a compact IRC5 controller including a small footprint with a fold-down wing.

The trend continues with a grant for a robotic welder. Recently, Snead State Community College, a college in Alabama received a special population training grant for workforce development training equipment. The grant of $97,931 has been awarded to invest in a robotic education welding cell. Furthermore, the training will be an addition to the welding technology training program by the college. Moreover, the grant includes the purchase of the two power Wave C300 advanced process welders, robotic welding education cell, two Virtual Reality Welder Software upgrades, and traveling charge for two training instructors.

Robotic welding has grown in large manufacturing plants, and workshops. It offers a unique opportunity to increase productivity and manufacturing. On the other hand, less time consumption as well, is an aspect that urges the companies to adopt robotic welding. Most importantly, it provides a safe working environment and improves labor safety. Moreover, adopting robotic welding is a fair deal with proper quality and cost-efficiency. Also, long-term labor costs can be saved with robotic welding machines. Furthermore, advancements in several companies including automobiles, construction, and other trades have augmented the growth of the robotic welding market as well. Moreover, with more such developments, and advancements in robotics, the welding industry would bloom in the coming years.
