Automotive manufacturers have been facing immense competition and trying to attract more customers to their brands. With introduction on new technologies that would make the vehicle intelligent and better, they have been working on providing stylish and sporty looks to their vehicles along with enhancing performance. Automotive trims play a crucial role in achieving that objective. Leading manufacturers such as Toyota, Hyundai, and General Motors have been introducing their next models with new trim levels. Though they have not launched the vehicles yet and plan to launch in 2021, they launched details about trim levels to attract customers. The demand for innovative automotive trims is high. According to the report published by Allied Market Research, the automotive trim market is expected to reach $43.35 billion by 2027. Following are some of the new launches that would shape the market in the coming years.
Leading automotive manufacturers have been introducing new trim levels with launch of new models or updated versions of current models. Toyota, one of the leading manufacturers from Japan, announced that it would launch new versions of Corolla, Avalon, and Camry. These vehicles would be equipped with new trims to give a sporty look along with addition of innovative technologies. For the styling purpose, the cabin of Camry would get an interior trim for sophisticated look. Its Avalon Nightshade edition would be equipped with black window trim, black 19-inch alloy wheels, and door handles. These models are estimated to launch in 2021.
In some cases, manufacturers do not plan to make few changes in its model, but introduce entirely different design changes in its upcoming models. General Motors (GM) will launch its new Cadillac XT6 Luxury with an interior trim level in 2021. There will be an aluminum interior trim that would be replaced by wood inlay or carbon fiber. This would be the major difference between its XT6 Sport variant. On the trims, the manufacturer equipped Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. GM will also focus on other models for introducing new trims. Buick Envision revealed its new trim level structure. It introduced four levels including Envision (base), Preferred, Essence, and Avenir. This will mark the first time for inclusion of Avenir level in Buick Envision. Its PEG trims will feature 1SV, 1SC, 1SL, and 1SU in Envision (base), Preferred, Essence, and Avenir respectively. In addition, for drive wheels, Envision will feature FWD only; however, remaining three will feature FWD or AWD versions. Initial launch will be focused on Envision (base), Preferred, and Essence, then the top-ranging Avenir will be launched. The launch of all trims will be take place by 2021.
The trend of launch of new automotive trims continues as more and more manufacturers make an effort to launch their editions. Hyundai will launch new trim level for its Palisade model. With increase in popularity of the model, the company is motivated to introduce a new trim level Calligraphy. The company would equip this trim in interior and exterior of the vehicle. It would feature trims in quilted-leather door panels along with a set of 20-inch alloy wheels. The additions would attract more customers for the new models than before.
