We are just through with the Aluminum & Cable conference at Detroit. The event left us with the answers to questions like why aluminum wire is worth considering when it comes to commercial feasibility. Besides, interesting statistics on the share, size, supply and demand of aluminum versus copper definitely left manufacturers active in the medium voltage cables market surprised on the uptake. The year 2016 will witness the growth of many reliable and maintenance free cable reeling products say research analysts at Allied Market Research. Industry experts eyeing the new opportunities, share, and size of the medium voltage cables market further explain that soon it would be the end users dominating the next wave of transmission in the cable substitution space.

So what’s keeping the medium voltage cables market in 2016 robust?

Product launches will influence the demand of the end user for the better

It is not only the cables making a headway into the marketplace but we can also expect the reeling equipment industry to support the growth of the medium voltage cable industry in 2016. Several mechanical and electrical engineering are planning on strengthening their reliable and cost-effective reeling systems to serve the growing requirements of the customer and application needs. In a recent incident, Powermite, which is a division of the famous Hudaco (Pty) Ltd., took the industry by storm when it introduced a new cable reeling system used for retrieving and laying down of the cables. Expressing his sentiments Donovan Marks, the marketing and sales director at Powermite said “Our cable reeling equipment is manufactured in a variety of materials including, painted steel, stainless steel, and hot dip galvanized surfaces, to suit a wide range of applications such as indoor, outdoor, dusty, corrosive, or specific environmental conditions.”

Customer dictates the next generation transmission of cable alternatives

Cable manufacturers have come up with plenty of cost-effective and safe solutions of medium voltage cable manufacturers this year. Although many users remain hesitant to shift from copper to aluminum, manufacturers believe that the latter can offer more commercial flexibility. Not only is the metal lightweight but it also works as a perfect alternative particularly for the medium voltage cables. Besides, aluminum is cheaper than copper, and thus has dominated the industry since years.

Growing investment pockets strengthens Europe’s position worldwide

Companies specializing in telecom and energy cables and systems are getting ready to open their plants in Europe. The strategy came to light when Prysmian Group, a leading manufacturer in data and telecommunications cables made its plan to inaugurate two new plants in Europe known to the world. These plants will be an extension of the factories that already exists in locations including Slovakia, Slatina, Presov as well as Romania. Official sources revealed that these plants will be open for operation soon. Both plants are believed to be one of biggest in Europe and is anticipated to reach a full capacity by 2017. Company has plans to inaugurate these two plants in early 2017. This will definitely be an unusual and notable event for cable manufacturers in Europe.

Companies gear up to upgrade their existing infrastructure

There exists a strong demand for upgrading the current electricity distribution service to make it more secure. Enel Distribution Muntenia recently made headlines when it invested close to RON 8.6 billion in upgrading Bucharest’s electricity infrastructure that was in need of immediate transformation. The company has not only upgraded but also introduced in the Telecontrol both remote control as well as monitoring systems at 30 alteration and 12 delivery points. Thanks to the initiatives, when failure occurs operators can resolve the problems quickly and remotely, with no need to deploy employees at the site revealed a press statement issued by the company.

During the operation the company has also completed the upgradation of medium voltage and low voltage network that began almost a year ago in neighborhoods including Dorobanti and Cotroceni The operation required the team to replace the old cable of medium voltage and low voltage performance with new cables to improve the capacity of transmission.
