According to the report, the video streaming market is expected to reach $149.34 billion by 2026.
Market players have been launching new video streaming services to entertain people and enhance their market share. Future Today, the LEGO Group and distribution company, revealed its new streaming service The LEGO Channel. The kids-targeted app is available on Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV. It will feature more than 1,000 videos of various genres and animations for appealing the broad audience. The videos will include programming from LEGO brands such as LEGO Ninjago, LEGO City, LEGO Friends along with LEGO Marvel and LEGO Jurassic World. Jay Shah, the Director of global content at the LEGO Group, outlined that the mission of the group is to inspire and develop builders of the future. The launch of new channel will enable kids to connect through fun and engaging content to inspire learning, creativity, and imagination. Vikrant Mathur, the co-founder of Future Today, stated that the company is delighted to work with the LEGO brand to offer library of content to kid through the platforms that kids visit.
Riding on the wave of launch of new streaming services, New Sky Kids launched its own video streaming service and app. This step has been taken five years after launch of its original series for kids. The new service will include its popular shows such as “High Top Princess” and “Little Heroes: Mighty Missions.” The streaming subscription service is available in the U.S. The franchise has 12 original shows for kids. Leigh Adams, the Co-founder and Vice President of brand and culture, outlined that they understand the difficulty about management of screen time for kids. They saw the responsibility before them. Two questions were raised. What kind of stories they want to tell and how to keep kids safe online while they are being exposed to inappropriate content and meeting strangers online? Felipe Adams, the CEO and father of three children, outlined that they decided to build their own channel and apps. These present a safe option online for their kids. The shows try to instill good values such as kindness, curiosity, and teamwork. There will be no ads on the platform and the shows will be available on any device anytime.
Among the various strategies adopted by market players, offering free tier to subscription video service is major strategy to bring new subscribers. The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Network released new tier for offering a look at the type of content non-subscribers can expect. Many videos available on the free tier are available on WWE’s YouTube channel and WWE.com. Once the bugs are cleared, this service will be launched officially.
