With increased pollution and degraded quality of air, the air purifier has hiked up in recent years. Other than vehicles, industries are the major cause of pollution. This also serves to the significance of industrial air purifiers. Air purifiers are used to increase the quality of air released from industrial processes by amassing the impurities and extracting industrial air.
Filter systems have become the necessity of the industries as the processes most often generate smoke and pollutants. Furthermore, a number of industries have adopted air purifiers including disaster recovery, agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare, and more. However, every industry needs different ranges, pressure, and variant needs based on capacity and filter. Moreover, air purifiers are the most convenient and efficient way for purifying the industrial air, offering a safe environment to the employees, and decreasing the health risks.
The air purifiers have been widely adopted in recent years. The benefits and reliability offered by industrial air purifiers have further fueled the demand. However, the unsought arrival of the novel coronavirus pandemic has interrupted almost every industry. Based on the regulations issued by the government, industries except essential product manufacturing have been curtailed for several months. On the other hand, the investments for further plans and projects have been put to halt. This has impacted the industrial purifier sector as well.
The demand for air purifiers has been decreased from various end-use sectors. Also, the manufacturing processes have been shut down. In addition, most of the leading suppliers of industrial air purifiers including Honeywell, have temporarily shifted their manufacturing processes at chemical manufacturing companies in order to produce and donate hand sanitizers.
Other than the manufacturing, the supply chain disruptions have impacted the market. The complete ban on import and export have caused severe critical issues for the manufacturing companies. On the other hand, the restrictions on traveling have further resulted in the shortages of raw materials. At this point of time mostly industries have aimed to aid the healthcare industry with maximum amount of masks and personal protecting kits.
Recently, a team of anaesthesiologists, universities and a group of companies, in Netherland, have designed two new reusable face masks and air-wave protection system for medical staff who are treating the Covid-19 patients. The mask uses high performance filter for air purification. On the other hand, the air wave protection system is an amalgamation of the mask with a custom 3D printed connector to a medical grade filter and an air pump. The air pump generates a pressure in the mask which reduces the air leakage and increases the ease of breathing. Moreover, the masks are anticipated to solve the shortage of face masks and improve safety for healthcare specialists. The initial testing of the kits indicate that these solutions offer better protection than commonly used protection kits.
The government bodies, however, in several sectors have imposed certain relaxations on the regulations allowing the industries to restart their projects and plans. Furthermore, the industry is anticipated to witness an increased demand during this time of crisis as most of the industrialists are leading towards air purifiers in order to maintain a pure and safe environment. A report published by Allied Market Research reveals that the industrial air purifier market is anticipated to reach $4.16 billion by 2027. The rise in contaminated air due to industrial processes is the major factor leading to the demand for air purification equipment. Furthermore, the advanced industrial air purifiers also pose combating power against bacterial and non-bacterial pollutants with the use of high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters. Moreover, with further technological improvements in air purification systems and the advent of smart technologies the market would grow significantly over the years.
