With an increase in health consciousness and changing lifestyle, the demand for fitness equipment is growing. People are finding it difficult to give time to exercise in gym, so they prefer fitness equipment and exercise at home. It helps in weight loss & management, improving endurance, stamina, and development of muscular strength. Occasionally, it is also used in medical treatments and recovery from injuries. The commonly used fitness equipment are weightlifting machines, treadmills, stair climbers, barbells & dumbbells, stationary bicycles, etc.
In addition, average fitness consumer is focusing on training in a way high-performance athletes train. Barbell & dumbbell strength training, high-intensity weightlifting workout, and Olympic weightlifting are some of the exercises popular among them.
Anytime Fitness, the world’s leading gym franchise, announced that it is developing an app called ‘AyrGym.’ This app will help people to find home fitness equipment that are not used by owners. This would help people who want to work out, but does not have a gym membership or do not have time to go to gym. "It's time for 'Netflix and Chill' to meet 'AyrGym and Sweat,'" said Anytime Fitness CEO and co-founder Chuck Runyon. "The fact is, most home fitness equipment ends up being used as coat racks, dust magnets and cat litter platforms. We're telling people: Hey, you're already monetizing your car with Uber and your home with Airbnb. Why not your treadmill with AyrGym?"
AyrGym will allow users to find locations with the help of advanced geolocation technology and user-driven ratings and reviews to have the equipment they need. The equipment varies from treadmills, elliptical machines, and barbells to stationary bikes, stability balls, yoga mats, resistance bands, and thigh-toners. The app allows equipment owners, or "Workout Enablers," to set rates for their possessions based on market conditions.
"AyrGym is an impactful, game-changing paradigm shift delivering a visionary value-add for homepreneurs and Digital Native fitness-hacking binge-exercisers," said Anytime Fitness President and co-founder Dave Mortensen. Runyon further clarified, "I think what Dave means is that we're helping people turn their bench presses into Benjamins. But for those who want something more than AyrGym—like convenient, affordable, 24/7 access to top-notch fitness equipment coupled with classes and coaching in a safe and supportive environment—another option is to join the world's 3 million Anytime Fitness members.”
