A shift towards sustainability paved the way for recycling and reusing waste materials. The cosmetic industry is also focusing on use of upcycled components for maintaining the sustainability and cost efficiency of the product. The growing demand for upcycled cosmetic ingredients due to their beneficial properties like chickpea brine (aquafaba), berry extract, nutshell powder, fruit peel powder, and coffee grounds could propel the market demand.
As per the latest report by Allied Market Research, the upcycled cosmetic ingredients market is expected to witness a notable CAGR of 6.6% during the forecast period. The sector is experiencing growth due to a surge in the utilization of upcycled ingredients in skincare products and the expansion of the vegan cosmetic sector.
