The navigation system has become a necessity in today’s world. Let that be a road trip or a planned journey the navigation system plays an equally important role as fuel for the car. Global Positioning System (GPS) enabled navigation system has replaced all those dilemmas of finding routes for destinations. Moreover, becoming one of the safest and practical ways to reach the endpoint.
The car navigation system is basically a third-party application, and a part of automotive control, which helps the driver to find the exact location with the help of a satellite navigation device. It enables the driver to find the shortest and most suitable way to reach the destination. With the latest advancements, the car navigation systems are getting widely adopted. Furthermore, to meet the rising demand the key market players are adopting several strategies to offer better services to their customers.
The market players are prospering the market with new product launches. Recently, Kia Motors, a multinational automotive manufacturing firm has unveiled a new series of UVO Connect services under the ‘Phase II’ features that aim to improve vehicle connectivity and control. According to the manufacturer, the new UVO Connect’s Phase II features offer numerous benefits to the customers including the information related to last-mile navigation and traffic. Also, these benefits can be accessed via a smartphone app as well as inbuilt infotainment systems in the vehicles. Moreover, the services aim to assist during journeys making them easier.
Other than this, an engineering and technology company, Bosch, has recently launched a sensor that provides precise and uninterrupted navigation. The Bosch SMI230 MEMS sensor constantly records changes in the vehicle’s speed and direction and transmits the generated information to the navigation system. The information, then, associates with the positional data from the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) to be used for navigation. Furthermore, the sensor aids even during network interruption due to tunnel or in valleys. Other than improved navigation, the sensor is also suitable for fleet management and toll systems based on its accuracy on motion detection. Based on its ability to detect vibrations and impacts, the sensor can also be used as an alarm system.
The adaptation of technology is increasing every passing day. And, further advancements in technology is attracting even more. Likewise, the navigation system has perceived numerous advancements offering more reliability and sustainability. The adoption of the car navigation system is rising owing to an increase in demand for automobiles. A report published by Allied Market Research reveals that the global car navigation market is anticipated to grow significantly over the coming years. The surge in demand for navigation systems by dependent sectors and high demand for real-time traffic drives are major factors responsible for the market growth. In addition, the government in various region are initiating to mandate such systems. Moreover, people are becoming more dependent on the navigation system, which, in turn, would lead the market to grow rapidly, in the near future.
