Foot care products are essential to prevent infections and rashes. Innovative products have been launched by market players to address different issues related foot such as rashes, infections, and others. These products have been produced to give better benefits as compared to competitors’ products. Market players have been adopting this strategy to gain a competitive advantage. However, the usage of foot care products is not limited to foot. The ingredients found in foot care products can be utilized for treatment of other conditions such as multiple sclerosis. Cipla Health, one of the leading healthcare products manufacturers, launched Clocip, an antifungal product for treatment of skin infection and prevention from reoccurrence. The company offered two products, the Clocip Clotrimazole Absorbent Dusting Powder and Clocip Clotrimazole Cream. The former product is a powder that can be spread between the toes to treat athlete’s foot and ringworms. Moreover, the cream can be utilized for sweat rash and other skin issues occurring on feet. For athletes and people who need to wear a pair of socks and shoes for long hours that may results in skin related problems due to sweat,  this product provides a solution against fungal infections.  

To prevent fungal infections in nails, one of the market players operating in the Europe launched a fungal nail plaster. TheOTCLab launched the FungeX Nail Fungus Plaster in countries including Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. The manufacturer is in process to launch the product in Portugal. The striking feature that sets it apart from other market players offering nail plasters is its ability to eight hours of continuous treatment. Thus, this product can be applied while users are asleep. In addition, it offers results four times quickly than its competitor products and enables nails to grow 30% rapidly, as per new clinical research. The company plans to advertise all these differences on their packaging and marketing campaigns. Such products stand out from competitors and offer a competitive advantage.

Determining the need to care for feet of athletes, the company launched FungeX Athlete Foot Socks. These are non-medicated socks that are designed for treatment of athlete’s foot along with symptoms such as itching, irritated skin, and unpleasant smell. TheOTCLab’s CEO Albert Swane outlined that the company would continue to offer innovative products and adopt various marketing strategies to reach consumers.

Along with offering unique and better products than its competitors, new research studies outline the importance of utilizing foot care drug in treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS). Researchers have found that one of the chemicals known as miconazole, which is used in antifungal creams for treating the athlete’s foot, can be helpful. MS is a neurological condition that occurs due to damage to myelin. Researchers found that miconazole can multiply myelin-producing cells. In an experiment conducted on mice, they discovered usefulness of this chemical in repairing damaged myelin. As most of the drugs show their effects through impact on immune system, this chemical does not work that way. It showed its usefulness by affecting the system in a different way, so researchers found a promise in this chemical.
