In the digital age, the use of cable and connectors has increased immensely. Many market players are trying to develop cables that provide high speed to the user, and are durable. Companies are developing innovative cables so that offer faster connectivity than before. The excessive use of cables also created increase in technological waste all over the globe. In Europe, the governing bodies are trying to handle the situation by banning unnecessary things so that there will be less e waste. Also, companies are finding ways to develop a durable cable that can be used for long time to avoid increase in waste. There is a huge potential in the cables and connector market for market leaders. According to the report published by Allied Market Research, the global cables and connector market is expected to reach $160.93 billion by 2027. There are many trends set up in the market by the companies to grab more market share than the competitors.

  • Innovative Product Offering

Several market leaders are developing HDMI cables that can transport data of high bandwidth. The HDMI cable from AmazonBasics is well fit if a user wants to use either for 3D, 4K video, and Audio Return Channel or Ethernet. This HDMI cable is most commonly used for connecting Apple TV, FireStick, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, Blu-Ray players, computers, and other HDMI enabled devices.

Companies are offering innovative products to attract customers. A few years ago, Cat-5 ethernet cables were used to connect to the Ethernet. However, many more options such as Cat-5e, Cat-6, Cat-6a, and Cat-7 are available now. Cat 7 enables a user to get a speed of up to 10 gigabytes per second. The cable can be about 16 feet long and it supports devices that were supported by Cat 6 and Cat 5. The flat design of the cable allows users to install the cabling under the carpet and rugs or mount flat against baseboards.

  • Super Speed HDMI Cable

Terabytes, an IT consumer electronics company, launched an effective ultra HD HDMI cable. The cable is highly renowned for super-speed transmission. The plating on the HDMI is full copper.  The cable is used for rendering 480p, 480i, 720p, 1080i, 1440p, and 4k resolutions neatly. The length of the cable is 1.5 meters. An HDMI cable from BlueRigger is compatible with PC, and can transfer data at the rate of 10.2 gigabytes per second. The length of the cable is 0.9 meters. It is manufactured by using a PVC outer layer and oxygen-free solid copper strands. It makes sure of the durability of the cable. The durability will make cable last longer than before and it will reduce waste of cables.

  • Steps to Reduce E-waste

Apple might have to abandon its lightning connector cable as the amount of e-waste is increasing There are three kinds of cables available in the market and European Union wants to reduce this number so that environment could not be harmed.  This cable is used to charge and synchronize Apple devices such as iPhone and iPad. But, the European Union wants to end the use of this charger because it generates more than 51,000 tonnes of waste per year. One of the members of the European Parliament said that this cable is immensely detrimental to the environment. The European Union suggests that there should be a common charger that can charge all tablets, e-book readers, mobile devices, and other devices. In 2009, there were more than 30 types of charger that were available in the market, but only three types of the charger are available now. If Apple has to abandon the use of lightning connector cable then there is a huge possibility that the company will adopt USB-C cable.
