High definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is a standard interface to connect the audio-visual devices and is used in both the commercial sector as well as domestic places. In homes, the HDMI cable is used to connect various devices to the television such as TV, DVD player, Blu-ray player, Xbox, and PlayStation, while in commercial areas the HDMI cable is used to transmit audio-video signals from device to device for education and presentations. The increasing demand for audio/video devices and 4K ultra-HD televisions has boosted the growth of the HDMI cable market. According to the Allied Market Research, the global HDMI cable market is expected to reach at $3.87 billion registered at a CAGR of 4.5% from 2019 to 2026.
Use of HDMI to Monitor COVID-19 Patients
The Indian Navy has developed a solution to monitor the COVID-19 patients in the intensive care unit to reduce the risk of catching the virus by the doctors and other healthcare professionals.
The director of the Visakha Institute of Medical Science (VIMS) had asked the navy to provide a solution. The Indian Navy came up with a solution, Portable Multifeed Oxygen Manifold for the remote monitoring of the patients’ vitals. The audio-visual output of the patient monitoring system is converted to HDMI output which was can be viewed from a big display outside where all the healthcare staff can safely monitor. This way the staff could monitor all the patients simultaneously providing each patient an audio alarm if any problem occurs. The same parameters of monitoring through HDMI ethernet converter are provided to the doctors in their phones through HDMI ethernet converters. This way the doctors can monitor all their patients anywhere anytime.
Introduction of Waterproof HDMI Cable Assemblies
Milltek, a U.S.-based electronics company, has launched waterproof HDMI cable assemblies. These HDMI cable assemblies will help in using the HDMI cables in industrial computing, factory automation, medical, and harsh environments. These waterproof HDMI cable assemblies allow the HDMI cables to uphold any kind of harsh environment by preventing entry of water and dust particles into the HDMI cables.
Along with this, Milestek has launched an HDMI panel-mount coupler that protects the HDMI cables from dust and water particles when not in use. The HDMI panel mounter can be attached to the HDMI panel whenever the cable is not in use. It is said that both the devices are a perfect solution for the customers who require the connectivity of HDMI in harsh environments such as those found in industrial and outdoor display applications.
High-Frequency Noise Suppressing HDMI Cables
ShowMeCables, a U.S.-based Infinite Electronics Brand has launched a new series of commercial-grade HDMI cables that are appropriate for the use in video transferring, commercial electronics, audio/video installers, video system designs, and gaming venues. The HDMI cables consist of in-wall installations and ferrite cores at each end that helps in the reduction of noise in the signal. These HDMI cables are suitable for environments where there might be the presence of high-frequency noise and are specially designed to be installed in harsh environments conditions.
Due to advancements in display technology and enhancement of the multimedia and entertainment industry, the growth of the HDMI cable market is bound to increase in the coming years. The manufacturing of different HDMI cables for different environments and different users has increased over the last couple of years. Thus, the demand for HDMI cable is expected to grow swiftly in the upcoming years.
