Strokes are the one of the leading causes of death across the world, and finding better ways to manage and treat them is among crucial tasks of the healthcare community and researchers. Moreover, healthcare companies have been taking necessary measures to treat by implementing technologies and developing new products to facilitate doctors and physicians in treating patients. Technological integration is one of the effective ways to enable rapid decision making for healthcare professionals. A hospital chain in India partnered with a healthcare tech firm to bring technologically advanced stroke treatment in the country.

Market players have been launching new devices and solutions for management and treatment of strokes in effective and efficient manner. New devices offer an anatomically optimized design and assist physician in gaining a confidence to treat patients along with reducing the recovery time. These strategies such as technological implementation and partnership would bring a new dimension for stroke management. According to the report published by Allied Market Research, the stroke management market is expected to reach $36.75 billion by 2023. Following are some of the activities taking place across the world.

Implementation of technology to gain better insights and manage stroke in a better and efficient way has always been one of the priorities for the healthcare sector. Partnership has become a crucial strategy to achieve an objective of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) for management of stroke. Apollo Hospitals Group joined hands with the India Medtronic Private Limited for making this integration a reality in India. This AI platform has been approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). With this partnership agreement, Medtronic would implement technical expertise, stroke technologies, training and advanced stroke management by integrating AI platforms at the Apollo Institute of Neurosciences at 10 different locations across India.

This AI integration will help in standardization of stroke diagnosis and enabling clinicians to make accurate & rapid diagnosis and treatment of strokes. The new software would offer automated analysis within a couple of minutes in comparison to the current systems that take nearly an hour to give results. The results assist in faster decision making as every second counts when it comes to strokes.

Among innovative strategies adopted hospitals and healthcare providers to manage and treat strokes, the launch of new products and solutions is one of the major strategies. CERENOVUS, one of the medical devices firms of Johnson & Johnson, launched CERENOVUS Stroke Solutions. These solutions include three devices to help physicians in a clot removal process. With the help of these devices, physicians are able to carry out mechanical thrombectomy procedures.

These solutions are designed for better tracking ability and support to assist physicians in navigating complex anatomy. Moreover, the company took durability and compatibility into consideration and designed thin walls for fast navigation to the middle cerebral artery. One of the new products include a next-generation stent retriever, for removing a wide range of clot types, enhance procedural confidence of physicians, and offer specific options to gaining the First Pass Effect (FPE). These solutions are aimed at reducing the recovery time of patients.
