There has been a significant surge in the need for small arms and light weapon products in various countries, due to the increase in the occurrence of various terrorist and criminal activities. Small arms are extensively used by individuals for self defense as well as recreational purposes. In addition, military and law enforcement personnel also use small arms for carrying out their respective operations. These factors are expected to drive the growth of the global small arms market. According to the report published by Allied Market Research, the global small arms market is expected to reach $13.75 billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of 5.3% from 2021 to 2030. Companies are increasingly focusing on developing small arms products that further create remunerative opportunities for the growth of the market.
Numerous players of the market are launching innovative small arms products to effectively cater to military and defense needs. For instance, Israel Weapon Industries (IWI), a member of the SK Group that is a leader in producing combat-proven small arms for military forces, police units, law enforcement agencies, and governmental entities around the world, announced the launch of its new assault refile called ACE-N 52.
ACE-N 52 is the latest model in the ACE family, and is essentially ideal for the use with standard NATO (AR-10) magazines, including 7.62X51mm ammunition. This product has an enhanced ergonomic design, and hence is specially designed to enable necessary forces to meet adverse challenges efficiently in the battlefield.
This product is able to withstand any sort of unfavourable weather or environmental conditions. In addition, this weapon appreciably facilitates flexible operations and significantly enhances overall mission accuracy with the help of its foldable AR butt and adjustable cheek rest. It is also equipped with a Picatinny rail to adapt an extensive range of equipment.
Ronen Hamudot, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales at SK Group and IWI, mentioned in a statement that being a leader in the field of small arms, the company rapidly continues to revolutionize and create ultra-modern products depending on the altering needs of the company’s customers.
The trend of launching light weapons and small arms products in various countries from prominent players of the market continues to gain massive momentum in the aerospace and defense industry. For instance, Caracal, a dominant Abu Dhabi-based small arms manufacturer, announced the launch of its two new infantry small arms weapons namely, the F Gen II pistol and CSA338 semi-automatic rifle.
These products are the second generation of products launched by the company. The Caracal F Gen II pistol is equipped with a new ‘solid slide’, that is capable of integrating multiple components and providing enhanced performance and seamless maintenance. In addition, the company allows the inclusion of breakthrough optics such as reflex sights as it tends to offer factory option of a modified slide.
On the other hand, the CSA 338 Semi-Automatic rifle is testament of CARACAL’s surging technical sophistication. This product merges the concepts of a designated marksman rifle (DMR) with a 338-calibre sniper rifle into a highly precise semi-automatic weapon. Hence, this weapon features high-calibre ammunition.
Thus, introduction of new small arms products along with growing popularity of sporting events and hunting activities are expected to create ample opportunities for the growth of the market.
