Rapid industrialization and urbanization are raising the concerns of wastewater treatment for the industrialists and for the concerned government authorities. The market is witnessing a huge demand for new technologies and equipment for wastewater treatment. The wastewater treatment equipment market seems to be quite promising indeed and provides new opportunities for the market players.

Clean water and proper water treatment are the greatest environmental priorities across the globe. The everyday industrial process produces huge volume of processed water; this water needs to be treated carefully, and thus the industries are looking for mature technologies to meet this goal. With the growing digital age the manufacturing industries are considering machine learning, industrial IoT and AI technologies to step up to the challenge. Streamwise D.I., an Australian start-up has developed AI-powered platform for wastewater treatment with industrial-grade digitization and currently serving well-known brands in the chemical, mining, and food and beverage industries along with the municipal water authorities. This platform records real-time data with the help of cameras, sensors, and other installed instruments, analyze the data and provides the required information and action items to the designated team members. This is how the team can check if operations are in regulatory compliance, and if not then the operators can make adjustments in treatment process and mechanisms to stay in compliance and achieve great results.

Many industries are looking for long term engagement with companies that can provide latest and proven wastewater treatment technologies. According to the Allied market research, the global wastewater treatment equipment market is expected to grow at a significant CAGR from 2021 to 2030.

Aquacycl, one of the leading manufacturers known for inventing revolutionary wastewater treatment technologies, recently announced that it has signed a contract with a bottling facility of one of the biggest global food and beverage companies to provide a long term service for latest wastewater pretreatment system. The Bio Electrochemical Treatment Technology (BETT), industrial pretreatment system removes organic material and treats concentrated and high strength wastewater produced at the plant. Its operations generate up to 90% less GHG emissions than old and widely accepted treatment technologies. Orianna Bretschger, Co-Founder and CEO of Aquacycl said that the company seeks to solve the most challenging wastewater issues with energy and cost-effective solutions and expand its industrial collaborations. The Aquacycl’s BETT system reduces operating expenses by removing 80% of primary incoming sludge. It uses local bacteria for conversion of organic waste and sludge into direct electricity generation without the production of methane gas.

The global technology company ABB, on the other hand, won a three year long contract worth more than $10 million for the advancement in the automation and power management of Baltimore's Patapsco Wastewater Treatment Plant. ABB will deploy cutting-edge technologies to update the plant and meet the highest safety standards. During the three-year project, ABB will deploy cutting-edge technologies and update the plant to meet the highest safety standards. ABB will leverage its advanced techniques, including its energy management system, AbilityTM 800xA control system, and switchgear, to optimize the plant's operations, improve effectiveness, and lower overall costs. ABB must ensure that the plant's operations remain uninterrupted as it is upgraded throughout this three years long partnership.
